What is the length of your regular season?
20 games, typically, if weather permits.
What league do you play in?
West Suburban Baseball League (
What tournaments do you play in?
3-5 tournaments are played in, depending on the age, in addition to the league play.  These tournaments are usually at least 4 games.
For 11’s, 12’s and 13’s we play in Myrtle Beach, SC (Ripken), Cooperstown, NY, and Omaha, NE (during College World Series), respecitvely.
Other age groups, depending on scheduling, will play adjacent to Miller Park (Milwaukee, WI - Home of the Brewers) for their away tourney.
We also have played at the Bandits Stadium (near O’Hare airport), which is a professional atmosphere (jumbotron, player’s choice of plate music for at bat, etc.)
Other tournaments are “local”, in Schaumburg, Vernon Hills, Woodridge, Hinsdale, etc.
What is your home field(s)?
13’s play at Eccles (location above)
Other age groups play at Walker and Prospect fields in Clarendon Hills, IL.
What is the training schedule?

We begin our throwing velocity and individual hitting instruction in November.  The venue changes year to year, but we try to stay reasonably close but desire access to a tremendous facility (Rhino in Romeoville and DeMarini in Burr Ridge are examples).  These sessions are age based, with some combinations to economize on time.
Team practices begin in January and we endeavor to continue the velocity training through these practices as well.  Depending on game schedule, we have two practices from that point on through the season.  All practices are led by professional instructors that have been with the Cardinals for the last several years.
Who is the training staff?

JJ Furmaniak - Team and individual skill training
Chris Frankiewicz - Team and individual skill training
Mark Sheehan - Throwing/Pitching Velocity training

* See “Trainers” tab on
Who are the coaches?

At U-13, we will have a professional coach.
At younger age groups, we typically have parents coaching the games.
* While parents coach, practices are led by the professionals and lineups, etc. are determined by those professionals via practice results.  Additionally, we may involve college age coaches as a supplement to games and practices (former Cardinal players that played high school varsity and/or college baseball).
